Simple SANS Another test - WIP by jbensch
Simple SANS Another test - WIP
Again with the testing.  I really like how this one turned out - particularly now that I thinned all the characters...it was way too heavy before.  I'm not sure on the bar in the 'f', I may move it up to match the 't'.  Maybe.

Anyway, for now I'm calling it 'Brinxly'...but that may change.

Done.  Just a few more tweaks and it'll be ready for release.  Anyone have any name ideas?

Almost done.  This one will include all the appropriate accented characters.  I need to fix a few minor issues and get the line spacing a bit closer.

Fixed the 'I', 'k', 'r' and 't'.  Padded out the white space slightly and the kerning.

I keep repeating it but it's simple and that's what I like about it.  It may be a bit too thick - not sure.

Thoughts?

I still need a name...

It's getting better.

The 'k' and 't' need some refinement and I'm really not sure what to do with the 'r'.  Originally it was going to be a monospaced font - but the 'l' and 'i' simply didn't look right.  I may also trim the width of the 'I'.  And make the 'n' more like the 'N' with the slant and not the rounded top.  All the other characters are the same width (745, if you're interested).

The kerning looks good but, overal, the characters are too close.  I'll need to pad them out slightly.

It is simple - but it's the font I've been planning for a while.

I just need to do the punctuation, numbers and come up with a name.

font critiques

Tue Dec 9, 2014, 9:30 AM

I'd like to build the professional quality of my fonts.

Anyone out there able to give some advise and/or real critiques on my submissions?

I feel they are lacking a bit - but I'm not quite sure where and what they need.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
