flames - blue metallic upclose by jbensch flames - blue metallic upclose by jbensch
My brother wanted to see some blue flames made to look metallic.

I'm not sure if I pulled it off - what do you think?

And, yes, the horizontal lines are intentional. They are not due to a fuzzy picture...just trying to do the whole 'metal' thing...

very nice job. i think you should try to throw in a bit of a "glitter" effect to it. that would cause it to "appear" more metallic-like. other than that, i think they turned out very nice.

I like 'em. Beggers can't be choosers, I meant a blue metallic background and then a different colored flame on top. But I do like this flames.

D'oh!!! I'll do one with a blue background tomorrow. I really like the flames with this one though...so I may use another section of the glyph. I made it this morning... I may use the glyphs with in a 'normal' scale too - we'll see.

What colors do you want? Do you want the hot rod style (red, yellow, white) on a blue background?

Did you like the metallic look?

Yeah, the metallic look is great. Sorry about the confusion, but I appreciate you wanting to fulfill the thought. Hot rod style would be cool, but since it on blue, maybe try both red, yellow and white, and white to a lighter blue. Maybe I'm streching here, but I know you can do it.

Eep. Slap my ass and call me Sally. I said they were dull....that's not what I meant. I meant that color of blue, periwinkle. If you wanted them to be metallic you should change the color of blue, 'cause the periwinkle won't look metallic.

Just don't do it again, Sally.

Periwinkle?! They're cobalt blue! Man, I can barely spell periwinkle.

A more of a blue-gray would look more metallic. Greggo specifically asked for more of a blue-blue, not gray-blue...

Almost there. Try brightening the blue a bit and it should come out one hundred percent metallic. But it's good none the less man. Although you should brighten the flames in the background, unless you made them intentionally that dull, but if they were meant to be metallic too, you should brighten them a bit

The faded flames in the back are intentionally dull - kinda ghost-like.

What'd you think of the layout?

The layout is great. The color of the flames in the back were my concern, if you were wanting a metallic look for them, because the color is wrong for the metallic look, but the dullness wasn't what I had meant, as you've seen now. -chuckles- I goofed and I'm kicking myself for it now. 'mouth full 'o foot'

Don't be silly - it's good to be critiqued and get feedback.

-chuckles- I know, but it is only my opinion and tastes. But yeah, for me, it's too dull of a gold, I never really liked goldenrod....the color or the weed -laughs-

Hrmm. I must've been looking at the gold one and clicked on the blue one instead.
