flames - red on black by jbensch flames - red on black by jbensch
Nothing new - just some red flames on black. Just doing something other than fixing bugs in the kill jolly roger game..

---

13 days of voting remain!

Just in case you haven't yet - Please, please, please vote for me here: [link]

I actually have 2 entries (out of 3 submitted) that made it to the finals. Please vote for #128 (blue interweaved-diecut flames on gray) - if you know my style, you'll probably recognize my other entry...

You can only vote once (for #128!!!) per person/email address/IP Address or the vote(s) will be removed...

As an added bonus, if my design wins a random voter will win a laptop.

Please, please, please - I could really use a new computer...and the 16th was my birthday...

Tell everyone - I need votes, lots and lots of votes...

Thanks guys you all ROCK!!!

I wanted to vote but got the Error 404 Not Found page. I went thru your entire gallery and didn't see the one you mention above. Fix the link and I'll vote. Love your flames. Wish I could put them on my old Harley.

Ha ha - sorry. The contest was over 5 years ago...oops. I should probably change the description..

Glad you like them! I have a guy who does vinyl wraps for just about anything - if you can get me proper dimensions we can have something made up for you.

Sweet! Those were my high school colors. If I had seen this back then, I would have printed this up and put it on everything :)
Great work. Love the color shifting in the background. :+fav:

I don't - sorry. I guess the tutorial isn't helping, eh?

Which part of the process is giving you the most trouble?

I could write a document detailing my tutorial #1 if you think that will help...

In all honesty that really isn't that bad. You just need a little more practice. I spent a lot of time practicing. There are many glyphs that I simply deleted after hours of trial and error.

It's best if the points on the curves are all 'off curve' (they'll be a circle instead of a square). Hitting the Insert key on your keyboard will insert more points of the same type of the point highlighted. Note - the absolute first point will always be a square (on curve).

If you have a scanner, draw a flame the way you like it. Scan and save it as a .bmp. When you start Softy you can turn on templates and it will bring in whatever .bmp you choose - you can then use that as a guide.

Try this as practice: Make a circle with only 6 points - hint, put 2 circle points on both sides of the first (square) point.

Check this in my scraps for a point reference on an example flame: [link]

I hope that helps. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need any more help. Good luck
